Point of User Water Cooler Maintenance Guide

There is typically minimal maintenance required for a Point of Use Water Cooler or POU water cooler. If the water cooler uses filters, the water filter cartridges will need to be replaced every six months. Manufacturers recommended that each new filter cartridge is rinsed before installing. This is a basic process that involves closing the incoming water valve at the assembly, removing the filter canister, replacing the cartridge inside the canister, re-installing the canister, and finally turning on the incoming water valve. If the reservoir develops unwanted mold or mildew buildup, it should be washed and rinsed either by hand with soap and water or in a dishwasher. Check with the manufacturer instructions to be certain that the reservoir is dishwasher safe. These are general instructions for filter replacement and maintenance. You should always refer to your owner’s manual for more specific maintenance intervals and instructions.
